Emma Pillsbury Style - Get The Look - Bows

I haven't been a very good blogger lately! Let's fix that right now, shall we?

I'm convinced this sweater is vintage, simply because you just don't see fabulous lucite buttons like that anymore.

A lovely contributor from Coolspotters posted this similar H & M sweater nearly a year ago.

There's a gray version of it on eBay if you're so inclined.

Here are some other ways to get more bows into your life, and your closet.

Splurge on these:

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel Striped Bow Sweater - $145.20
Marc by Marc Jacobs Bow Chain Lawn Dress - $240
Sonia by Sonia Rykiel Striped Bow Sweater - $179.85

Moderately priced pieces:

Oasis Bow Intarsia Cardigan - $67.64
Anthropologie Billowed Bow Tank - $58
Boden Bow Cardigan - $88

On a budget:

Modcloth Wear The Rain-Bows Tee - $27.99
Forever 21 Mixed Bow Sweater Top - CAD $27.80
Forever 21 Billions of Bows Top - $19.80

Embrace the bows!

Making Up Emma - Journey

Oh Teresa. Have I mentioned lately how much I adore you? I am BIZZEE with a capital B this week and haven't had a chance to write anything up about last night's finale. Thankfully, Teresa is on the ball and has created another fabulous installment of Making Up Emma for WWEPW. Teresa, you are a goddess.

***

EMMA WYLENE* PILLSBURY!!! WE MISSED YOU!! Will missed you but WWEPW missed the HECK outta you, girl! GLAD TO SEE YOU!! Come sit down, lemme get you a coffee, you tell me about where you’ve been!

Or you can ignore me and continue with this scene. Either way.
*Idk if that’s her middle name but it should be.

Emma’s first scene and it’s a winner! The makeup is GREAT! Soft purples and pinks are fantastic on her milky complexion. I feel like clapping really hard and irritating the people around me!

And look at Will, all fine and dapper. UNF. Look at him admiring her makeup. He loves those colors on her. I love absolutely anything on him. Even a Snuggie. Even a neon fanny pack.

But uh oh, we have some bad news. Emma is seeing someone. OHNO. (As in, “oh, no!” not Apollo Ohno, though he’s cute. He should be the dentist).

WELL THAT CAME STRAIGHT OUTTA NOWHERE, OHIO. POPULATION: PEOPLE WHO SPRING STUFF ON PEOPLE.

How is poor Will going to react to this punch in the gut?

Look at his face. POOR BABY SOMEONE GRAB HIM AND COMFORT HIM AND DO HIM HELP HIM! Oh, Emma! You’ve shattered his heart into 3 trillion pieces and not even Gorilla Glue is going to fix this! How could you!

And now we have fighting! After Figgins declares the Glee Club cancelled after losing to Jesse St. James and his dancing troupe of 30 year old teenagers (VOCAL Adrenaline my butt, they should be called FOOT Adrenaline), Emma is NOT HAVING IT. Truth be told, this was one of my favorite Emma scenes ever. Feisty, blood-boiling, cute-skirted Emma! My family is Eastern European, we yell like this 89% of the time and nobody’s even mad. It’s just how we talk. Hearing Emma and Figgins yell was like waking up to breakfast in my house on a glorious, sunny day. Ahh…feels like home. PASS ME THE EFFING TOAST!!!!! CUTE SHOES, IS THERE STREET-SWEEPING TODAY OR WHAT SHOULD I MOVE MY CAR?!?!!

But Emma is FURIOUS still! She carries that Spartan fighting spirit over to Will----she wants him to fight for her! And Leonidas followed her and he agrees! (for real, I know that movie came out like 4 years ago but it never stops being funny to me) Emma tells Will that some things are worth fighting for.

According to Emma, the following things are worth a fight:

Also, Sparta.

In this flash, Emma looked exactly like my 7 year old cousin when I don’t give in to her demands. You know when you’re a kid and you try to talk while you cry and you like, choke-sob? LOL. I can just hear Emma choke-sobbing her way through this conversation. And then getting hiccups. LOLZ.

All this fighting and yelling has taken its toll on Emma’s makeup! Poor bb has not found smudge-proof eyeliner or mascara yet. I totally understand. I come home from a hard day of wranglin’ 3rd graders and my face looks like I’ve just wandered out of an acid rain and fire storm where I was also pelted with coal and basketballs. And I’ve tried smudge-proof makeup. They need to make CHILD-PROOF makeup, amirite?!

Can I get a witness?!!!

ANYWAY-back to our Miss Pillsbury, who I am letting slide on the smudginess because girl is having a rough day.

It appears our star-crossed teachers with a penchant for kissing in school hallways are going to have quite a struggle before they finally, truly get together. But like Will's craptastic car, they will get there. Puttering and spewing motor oil, dragging their exhaust pipe, they will get there. And it will be glorious.

BUT THEN, WILL FINALLY DOES IT! HE CONFESSES HIS LOVE!! (to Emma, not me, but OMFG IT WAS EXCITING!) Fireworks exploded! Geysers burst! HE LOVES HER!! GET IT PILLSBURY!

AND THEN OMG RACHEL FREAKING BERRY JUST HAS TO INTERRUPT!!!

And so concludes the finale of Season 1! I had so much fun this year! I can’t believe what awesome people I would meet through this show and how much fun I’d have showcasing my terrible MS Paint skills! And don’t worry, WWEPW has stuff planned for the hiatus and I am always happy to Emma-fy scenes for you as long as you like! (thanks to this economy, I have a lot of free time!) :P

HAPPY FIRST SEASON, GLEE!!!!!!!! CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU IN SEPTEMBER!! :D

***

Teresa, I cannot thank you enough for enriching WWEPW with your AMAZING contributions each week. You have made this place even MORE fun for everyone who comes here and I am so honored to share your posts!

YAY, TERESA! TERESA, HOORAY!!!!

Fashion Challenge Results - "Funk"-y Swimsuits

Wheeee! This was so much fun! Aside from the fantastic looks, I absolutely loved how passionate so many of you were about Emma going to the beach. The pale skin, the distaste for germs, the sand everywhere - all ingredients in a recipe for a pure Emma disaster!

Rose's Look

Kicking this awesome challenge off is the person who inspired it! Red-and-white polka dots are ALWAYS okay as far as I'm concerned, and especially so when it comes to swimwear.

WWEPW's Look

A little light reading...

Teresa's Look

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! How big do you think Emma's eyes would get while reading Sh*t My Dad Says?!?

Amy B's Look

Amy says, "A neatfreak nightmare. Sand.? Bugs? Sitting on lawn chairs that only heavens know who has sat on them before? Exposing that peaches'n'cream complexion to the harmful rays of the sun? NEVER!!! But getting to see Will's naked gleaming chest? Absolutely."

Audra's Look

According to Audra, "It's a Pucci-palooza. For someone who makes muumuu's, his bathing suits are tiiiiiiiny."

I'll take the velvet one, thanks.

Ciara's Look

Heart-shaped glasses! YES!

Sweet Archivia's Look

"I even added a cute little soap pump because I know Emma loves to stay clean!"

That soap pump is precious!

Ginny's Look

Welcome, Ginny! You've included everything Emma needs for a perfect day at the beach! LOVE the books!!

Barbee's Look
Barbee was inspired by her nautical outfit in Bad Reputation! Love it! Welcome, Barbee!

J's Look

J says, "I decided that the most important thing about making this collection "Emma-esque" would be skin care. No way would Emma risk a sunburn, so I included sunscreen - but not that gross stuff that makes her skin feel greasy! - and lipstick with SPF, along with a hat and umbrella for the ultimate sun protection."

Excellent point! Emma would never tolerate greasiness!

Sarah's Look

That bag. Oh my. That. Bag.

Courts' Look

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. Day to evening! Genius!

Courts' Other Look!

HAHAHAHAHAHAH those books!

Molly's Look

Fabulous color scheme!

Ryan's Look

Welcome, Ryan! I adore the nautical theme of this look!

Celeste's Look

"I really can't imagine Emma voluntarily going to the beach, but maybe she gets some useful counseling and wears this cute suit to the beach! :)"

OMG I NEED TO SEE EMMA IN FLIPPERS NOW. OR FLOATIES. OMG FLOATIES.

Marcie's Look

Yay, Marcie! Welcome! LOVE the colors and that bathing suit is incredible!

Kate's Look

OH YES. How I love Emma in yellows!

Manda's Look

Manda! I LOVE that you included a cardigan! Welcome to WWEPW!

Rachel's Look

Mmmmmm, bows.

Sara's Look

That hat is beyond gorgeous.

Heather's Look

"I'm not entirely sure that Emma would go to the beach. Too many germs. "

This look is spectacular!

Samantha's Look

Ooh, I love the coverup!

Kari's Look

I could totally see Emma packing like forty swimsuits for a long weekend to the beach!

Jen's Look

So pretty and feminine! Love it, Jen!

Sariah May's Look

Sariah May says, "Emma goes to the beach... I can't picture Emma at a beach. Because sand is yucky, and it gets ALL over you. Which I don't think she'd like. But if she went, I'm sure she'd look fabulous."

The white swimsuit reminds me of her eyelet jacket from Hello! Awesome find!

G's Look

Oooh, so many lovely things! The swimsuit is the perfect color for Emma!

G's Other Look!

She does look amazing in purple, too!

Lady QE's Look

Beautiful colors!

ShinyPrettyThings' Look

So many pretty choices!

Eliz's Look

School Counselor! HAHAHAHA! Love it!

Meg's Look

Ooooh! I love a good ruched swimsuit!

Christina's Look

Woo! Christina is back with a plus-size perspective on Emma's fabulous style! I LOVE the ruffly swimsuit in that gorgeous coral hue!

Melissa's Look

Meg's Look

O's Look

She says, "Emma braves the beach (she clearly prefers the pool if she must go outside...less dirt. And she can bring her own chlorine). And you just KNOW she puts everything she owns in separate Ziploc bags before setting FOOT in that gross sand!"

Hooray, everyone! Just a little note to say that I love reading the really sweet notes that so many of you include with your sets when you email them to me. I like to post the ones that give WWEPWers a little peek into your creative minds.

And remember, if you don't see your look here, that means I didn't get it! I'm meticulous about saving all the emails I get to a special "Fashion Challenge" folder. If your look didn't appear, please be sure to email me so we can find it and get it posted! xoxo

Of course Fashion Challenges (and much more!) will continue after Glee comes to A SCREECHING HALT WHY GOD WHY tonight. Just think - our hiatus before Season 2 will be much shorter than the wait for the back 9, so that's a good thing! Thanks to everyone for making WWEPW the happiest, kindest place on the internet. It is such a pleasure and privilege to write this website and interact with all of you here every day.

Once more, with feeling...

YAY, GLEE! GLEE KIDS HOORAY!
