Fashion Challenge 2.0 - Liz's Collection

WOW! WOWIE WOW WOW WOW! I received over 50 submissions for Fashion Challenge 2.0, and folks, you did NOT disappoint. The looks are amazingly accurate, but I'd expect nothing less from such a fun group of dedicated Glee fans and fashionistas!

I'll be posting the looks you created by character, but to get the ball rolling, I'm dedicating this first post to Liz, who can be found on tumblr at missliz-gleek. Liz created fifteen looks - one for each of the show's main characters. Yep, FIFTEEN looks! This is dedication, people. And wait until you see them - Liz did not phone it in for this challenge!

Liz also put a really creative and unique spin on this challenge, which you'll notice right away when you see the looks she created for the male characters. Let's take a look!

Rachel Berry

Liz calls this "the look for cute grandmas everywhere!" HA! Check out the necklace! How perfect is that?

Tina Cohen-Chang

She even included the hair extensions to match the outfit!

Mercedes Jones

Liz totally nailed the Mercedes bling.

The Cheerios - Santana Lopez, Quinn Fabray, Brittany

I LOVE what she did here. It's a really clever take on the cheerleading uniform, suited to each character's style. Perfectly, I might add...

Terri Schuester

The perfect pregnancy-faking top for Terri. And we all know she needs to wear flats for the four-hours-a-day, three-times-a-week job she has to hold down at Sheets-N-Things.

Sue Sylvester

Sue would be pleased to know that Liz chose such a royal color for her character.

Now check out Liz's totally original idea for the boys' looks!

Will Schuester

Aaaaah! Isn't that fantastic? It's Will in female form! Brilliant! Love the Burberry tie!

Finn Hudson

Casual and easygoing, just like Finn.

Kurt Hummel
Liz calls Kurt's style "pure fabulousness." INDEED.

Artie Abrams

I think this is my favorite. The pants! Are awesome!

Noah Puckerman - Puck

Liz and I both agree that Puck's style would be hot on a girl!

Mike Chang

Pop and lock!

Matt Rutherford

A perfect interpretation of Matt's style!

Ken Tanaka

Short shorts and a whistle! Love it!

Liz, you really outdid yourself with this Fashion Challenge! I can't imagine the time it must have taken to put these looks together with such precision and attention to detail. I'm just so glad you took this on with such enthusiasm and I'm thrilled to be able to post them on WWEPW! Thanks for kicking off our Fashion Challenge 2.0 with such an exciting collection of looks!

Give it up for Liz, and give her some love! Visit Liz on tumblr at missliz-gleek and follow her on twitter at MissLizEddy, too!

Yay, Liz!

Lou Eyrich Wins Costume Designers Guild Award!

Last night, Glee's Costume Designer Lou Eyrich accepted the Costume Designers Guild Award for "Outstanding Contemporary Television Series" at the gala event held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Congratulations, Lou!

I can't think of anyone more deserving of this award, and it's wonderful to see Lou recognized by her peers. As far as I'm concerned, there aren't enough awards in the world to honor the work Lou does on Glee.

Also on deck to present at last night's ceremony were Jayma Mays, in a short lime green dress and gold shoes:

and Jessalyn Gilsig, in a charcoal off-the-shoulder fitted dress:

I don't know who's been advising Jessalyn on her styling, but she should keep listening! She has been knocking it out of the park lately!

Check out the three lovely ladies together:

Congratulations to Lou Eyrich for winning the prestigious Costume Designer's Guild Award! Applause! Applause!

Emma Pillsbury Fashion ID Sneak Preview- The Power of Madonna

Reader Sianna and my girl Rachel from GleeHab.com informed me today that new "Up Close With Jayma Mays" video on FOX's Official Glee site showed a quick glimpse of Emma and Will from the back 9. And that can only mean one thing!

NEW OUTFIT!

It looks like we're going to see a lot of the red pencil skirt!

I'm fairly confident that the jacket Emma is wearing in this gymnasium scene is this
Marc by Marc Jacobs navy blue jacket with red polka dots, with some red-trim added, perhaps by the costume department.

If Lou Eyrich did indeed embellish this jacket with red trim, it only reinforces that her sheer genius when it comes to dressing characters for television.

Of course, I imagine this jacket and skirt paired with the favorite pair of red pumps, or perhaps the navy Penelope Mary Jane pumps.

So what do you think? Does this look like the jacket Emma might be wearing? Yay for new clothes to talk about!

Fashion Challenge Results - Abstract Lattice Pencil Skirt

Hmph. You people get an UNSATISFACTORY on the "follows directions" portion of your report cards, because I thought I was clear about asking for some UGLY OUTFITS this week to give the judges a little break. Where were the ugly outfits, hmmmm? NOWHERE.

This week, Rachel of GleeHab.com and I were joined by our good friend Suzie, who writes the fabulous blog Gleeks United.

Suzie has just started a brand-new feature on her blog - Music Monday - where she features songs that would be great additions to upcoming episodes of Glee. Be sure to check it out!

And now, all the non-ugly outfits you made AGAIN.

This week, our three favorite looks belong to:

Mrs. M.

We all needed bibs after looking at this set. Regular readers of Mrs. M's blog At Home With Mrs. M! know that she is no stranger to great style. Check out her incredible recipe collection!

Meg's Look

We loved how the sunny yellow popped against the neutrals in the look. Also, OWLS.

Jessica's Look

Suzie said it best: "This is monochrome at its finest!" We all swooned over the polka-dot purse!

Yay Mrs. M, Meg, and Jess!

Now for some more gorgeous looks!

WWEPW's Look

Looks like Nicolle and I had a similar idea about color palettes for this skirt! That's why I love my 'virtual daughter!'

Lori's Look

Bwah! Love this title! Suzie wants this necklace, stat!

Celeste's Look

We especially loved the pretty braceletes in this set! Suzie thought the bow bracelet was particularly Emma-worthy!

Emma's Look

FABULOUS color combination! Don't stop believin' in that purple trench! Visit Emma's website Gleeklopedia for more fabulous gleekery!

Bloomie's Look

Want. Purse. Now.

Zyerna's Look

Zyerna was determined to use these shoes that she'd saved in her favorites, and we can't think of a more perfect look for them.

Stefani's Look

Suzie loved the inclusion of the book and wondered, "Great Expectations, eh? Does Emma have "great expectations" about a relationship with Will, perhaps?" As for Stefani's blog Je t'aime, Anthropologie, J'adore!

Nicolle's Look

Oh, Nicolle, you can do no wrong. The shoes are perfect.

Liz's Look

Suzie loved the splash of blue in the shoes. I couldn't agree more. And just WAIT until you see what Liz has coming up in the Fashion Challenge 2.0. I'm dedicating an entire blog post just to her... In the meantime, keep up with Liz here on Tumblr.

Amy J's Look

Is there anything better than a cardigan with the perfect belt? Nope.

Dee's Look

Dee, you're wonderful! We could totally see Emma wearing that lovely blouse.

Jen's Look

Jen has an amazing sense of color, doesn't she? I bought a corkscrew scarf recently from her Etsy shop Mimi & Boo, and I have gotten more compliments on it than anything else I've worn in the last decade.

Liz's Look

Oooooh! LOVE the combination of brown, red and aqua!

Tiffany Rose's Look

Suzie laments, "I want to wear those shoes. Right now. If only it wasn't snowy and gross outside. :(" Agreed. Also we want to marry that beautiful salmon color.

SweetArchivia's Look

Gorgeous and classy, just like Sweet Archivia!

Lovelygirly's Look

LOVE the hair accessories! I'd love to see Emma with some baubles in her locks!

Thanks again to everyone who participated in this week's challenge! You all make this blog so much fun! I double checked everyone's emails this week for blog links, but if you didn't include one in yours and would like your blog linked to your look, just let me know, and I'll add it! We've got to share the love, people!

Super thanks to this week's judges Rachel from GleeHab and Suzie from Gleeks United! Be sure to visit their blogs and all of the blogs in The Gleekdom Network, and enter our "Team Finn T-Shirt" and iTunes giveaways!

Emma Pillsbury Fashion ID - The Power of Madonna - Silhouette Cardigan

The lovely Teresa emailed this photo to me today:

It looks like the Silhouette Sweater Cardigan we saw on Emma is still in stores! And at $28, it's a steal! I may have to head on over to my local Forever 21 to pick one up!

Thanks to Teresa for sharing this! I've said it before, but it bears repeating. WWEPW readers are THE BEST.

Be sure to check out Teresa's blog: ELLEMENNOPEE. I was HOWLING with laughter at her posts today. (Teresa, remind me to tell you about the time a student accidentally spit in my mouth while talking, and I put antibacterial hand sanitizer on my tongue afterward...true story.)

A New Kind of Fashion Challenge...

The Fashion Challenge has truly become one of my favorite things about writing this blog. And while this blog is all about Emma's fashion, it is also a tribute to Lou Eyrich's incredible work as Glee's costume designer. Emma is only one of many whose character is enhanced by the work of Lou Eyrich.

To celebrate all of the fashion on Glee, I'd love to see what kinds of looks you all come up with for the rest of the characters. I've got some ideas in mind of how we can do this, but let's kick it off with something fun.

For the first Fashion Challenge v.2.0, choose your favorite (non-Emma!) Glee character and create a look that you think the character might wear!

For inspiration, check out this link to Channel E4 in the UK. Their official Glee website is fabulous.

Glee Characters - "Look at some pics"

Looks for everyone are welcome - whether you love Artie, Tina, Principal Figgins or Terri!

For this first challenge, let's take a week to create some looks. Feel free to make a look for as many characters as you'd like (but just one look per character, please!). Send your entries in to me by Thursday, February 25 at 6pm! Email them through Polyvore or directly to me at emmapillsbury (at) gmail (dot) com.

We won't judge this Fashion Challenge series - let's just see what kinds of great looks you can come up with for the rest of the Glee characters! Have fun and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Match Game - Roses vs. Blue and Lime

Natalie's Black and Blush look swept the floor with my Pink and Purple!

If you're a fan of Jayma Mays, you'll want to keep up with Natalie's blog Jayma Mays Daily Dose and follow her on Twitter @Jaymafans! I can say without a doubt that Natalie is as sweet as Miss Emma Pillsbury herself.

For our next Match Game, Em has submitted a look that layers the bright and colorful on top of classic neutrals. I absolutely fell in love with the rose brooch as soon as I saw it.

vs. my blue and celadon look.

Which will it be?
