Cardi Clips

I've been collecting a list of things to share on WWEPW, but I wasn't quite sure how I wanted to post them. Today I decided to start yet another feature on the blog called Cardi Clips. I'll be sharing links and stories with you that I've come across that made me sit up and pay attention. So here we go!

First up is Gertie's New Blog for Better Sewing. Ever since I discovered Emma's wardrobe, I've become obsessed with the notion of learning to sew. I found Gertie's blog, which was instant inspiration. Gertie is amazing. Inspired by a vintage copy of Vogue's New Book for Better Sewing, Gertie tackles this book one project at a time. She's been blogging recently about recreating Emma's locker-room look from Vitamin D, and these are MUST-READ posts. The most recent one is absolutely my favorite. Check them out!

1. Emma Pillsbury, Fashion Icon
2. Emma Pillsbury Goes Fabric Shopping
3. Emma Pillsbury: Queen of the Retro Mash-Up?

I absolutely adore this woman for her skills, her humor, and her style.

Today, photos of Jayma Mays from the Women in Film Pre-Oscar Party appeared:

I'm going to be honest. I haven't loved all of Jayma's dress choices for some of her recent public appearances. It seems that some of her dresses have been rather ill-fitting, but this one fits her perfectly. I'd love to see it as a strapless, but I think it works with the sheer black tank neckline, as well.

Jayma never strikes out with her shoes, though. These are fabulous little strappy heels.

For lots more pictures of this event, including Jayma's co-star and BFF Jessalyn Gilsig (whose hair looks spectacular, I might add), and a close-up look at Jayma's shoes, visit my friend Rachel's post at GleeHab:

Finally, my friend Erin posted this news on her site, Glee Dork:

A Gleeful Clothing Line?

Ok, I'm usually a real Pollyanna when it comes to all things Glee, but my response to this is as follows: Really? REALLY? A Glee clothing line? Couldn't we just go to Forever 21 or Hot Topic or J.Crew or Anthropologie or Urban Outfitters or Abercrombie (get my point?) if we wanted to style ourselves after Glee? It seems a weird form of merchandising. I'd buy a Kurt Hummel bobblehead in a minute, or a Sue Sylvester talking keychain, but I can go pretty much anywhere and buy a hoodie. On a scale of 0 to 5, this idea gets zero squirts of antibacterial hand gel.

And there we have it! Our first installment of Cardi Clips! If you come across anything that you think might fit here in your travels around the web, please feel free to send them to me at emmapillsbury (at) gmail (dot) com! I love hearing your suggestions, ideas and findings!

I feel the same way as you do about the clothing line!! It's not that hard to replicate any character's clothes.

I do have a "Property of McKinley High Glee Club" shirt though. :P

And I LOVE Jayma's shoes at this recent event. She always has the best shoes.
