Channeling Emma - Birthday Party!

It's no secret that WWEPWers are full of creative ideas. Melissa has taken Emma-inspired creativity to new heights...an Emma Pillsbury birthday party!

It all started when Melissa was thinking about what kind of costume party she might throw this year for her birthday shindig. It didn't take long for her to settle on her latest favorite style icon, Emma Pillsbury!

And yes, that does say "Bumpits." Not only is Melissa creative, she's also hilarious! You'll see in a moment how the Bumpits came into play....

From Melissa's blog Silly Bee's Chickadees - a Birthday Party Peek.

What does one do when one has such a brilliant birthday brainstorm? Create invitations, of course!

See! Bumpits! Anyone who works an entire girls night out around Emma Pillsbury and Bumpits deserves the Nobel Prize for something. Do they make one for awesome birthday party ideas? They should.

Next up: what to wear? Melissa turned to Polyvore to come up with ideas for her birthday ensemble, and settled on this fabulous look for the event.

Melissa's own cardigan for her outfit belonged to her mom, and for embellishment she added two vintage brooches that belonged to her grandmother. I can't think of a better way to put together the perfect outfit.

Melissa even Polyvored some incredible looks for her friends! Check them out in her post: Emma's Closet. (My favorite next to her own - Blueberry Sorbet)

At last the time had some for Melissa to gather up her besties and paint the town with antibacterial hand sanitizer! No detail was overlooked by this party planner extraordinaire!

Music to sanitize to! Don't stop believin' or sanitizin'! NOW GO WASH YOUR HANDS. Girlfriend is bringing cleanliness back!

Here's a photo of all the Emmas together, celebrating Melissa's birthday:

Don't they look fabulous? Although terrible storms and flooding that evening kept these lovely ladies from reaching each of the progressive destinations, they still had a fantastic time. Would you go out in the pouring rain and ruin any one of these looks? Stay in one place, look incredible, and most importantly, enjoy the company. That's exactly what Melissa and her friends did.

You can read more about this evening on Melissa's blog: Fiesta Friday - The Emmas! Melissa has lots of fun tips for hosting your own Emma Pillsbury-inspired party! Melissa has already started conjuring ideas for next year's event. I volunteered to be Tootie on roller skates if she decides to go with a "Facts of Life" theme...

Thank you so much, Melissa, for sharing your incredible birthday with WWEPW! I can't think of a happier way to spend the evening than with great friends wearing GREAT clothes. Happy birthday!

Oh my gosh, that is adorable! Looks like so much fun! What a cute idea. I wish I had enough friends who watched Glee to do something like this! Love all the girls' cardigans; Emma would be proud!

Those girlies all look INCREDIBLE!

(I'm not from the States, and the word 'bumpit' sounds kinda filthy to me . . .)
