About

Ever since I can remember, I've loved two things - clothing and television.

I blame The Electric Company and it's irresistible combination of wordsmithing and bell-bottoms.

For my seventh birthday, my parents went to City Hall and gave me the gift of the middle name I'd always wanted - Marie.  Not because I thought the name was pretty, but because Marie Osmond was my idol.  In those pre-DVR days, I sat glued to the screen every week, watching The Donny and Marie Show, holding the microphone from my Panasonic tape recorder up to the television's speakers. I'd listen back to the show in my room while coloring my Fashion Plates.

Not much has changed since 1977.  The television has always been on in the background of my life, and it's almost always influenced my style and fashion choices in some way, whether good or bad.  Or in the case of that black suede fringe-trimmed blazer I just had to have after seeing it on an HBO comedy special - very, very bad.

And so here I am today: teacher, vegan, wife, mother of furry kids.  Perhaps a bit too old in the eyes of some to be obsessed with the television show Glee, but not too proud to admit it.  Thanks for reading What Would Emma Pillsbury Wear?, (hopefully) enjoying it, and enabling my lifelong love affair with the small screen and a really great pair of shoes.
