Emma Pillsbury Fashion ID - The Role You Were Born To Play

I'm re-naming this episode "The Outfit You Were Born to Wear."

In this scene, Emma wears a familiar fuchsia cardigan, now embellished with little blingy bees.

Anthropologie Beribboned Buds Cardigan - no longer available

J.Crew Nicky Top - $39.99 (on sale, available in pink)

It's hard to tell what skirt she's pairing with her white high-collar blouse and pink cardigan, but it looks floral-y.  Fantastic Field, perhaps?

Before we talk about the clothes, a moment of respect for awesome hair...

Okay, now clothes.

I think she looks great in the soft colors of this blue-green top and white cardigan.

J.Crew Naomi Top - no longer available
J.Crew Crystal Circle Necklace - $135 (available in clear crystal)

Oh, hello, fabulous two-tone mary janes that I cannot find anywhere.

Take two:
Remix Mary Janes
I believe these are the Taxis, which are on sale in the silver colorway - $98

ETA:  Thanks to the lovely goldenmeans, who alerted me to the Remix brand, and these gorgeous shoes, which are for sale right now!

Yay!  The return of the coral Primrose Garden necklace!  I have this necklace, and it bums me out that the little round beads are chipped from clinking together.  First world problems, people.
(There is one coral Primrose Garden necklace on eBay right now.)

Who doesn't cook in a $200 Kate Spade skirt, white lace blouse, and designer apron?  Looks like I've found my Thanksgiving outfit.

Kate Spade Mollie Skirt - $134 (on sale!)

Red Roses Tea & Crumpets Apron (at Anthropologie) - $32

Jokes aside, I am digging Emma's outfits this season in a big way.  Well done, Martucci & Co.

Jewelry Organization

I love jewelry.  Vintage, costume, heirloom - I love it all.

When it comes to my own jewelry, I make some and I buy some.  I haven't been very good about keeping my jewelry in a nice, organized fashion, and I've had to send more than a few pieces to the bauble cemetery because of my own carelessness.

I don't like jewelry boxes or displays, and I don't like surface clutter, so I've been looking for an inexpensive way to keep my jewelry safe and organized.  I've managed to Frankenstein my own system, which has been working wonderfully for me, so I thought I'd share it with you!

This entire organization system cost me less than $25.  All of my jewelry is placed in a closet, out of sight, keeping dresser and nightstand tops free of clutter and mess.  A place for everything and everything in its place.  And I no longer have to toss out necklaces with too-tangled chains or chipped beads.

What tips and tricks do you have for keeping your jewelry organized?

Emma Pillsbury Style - Flower Sweater

Remember this black and white flower sweater from Season 3's "I Am Unicorn?"

Well, look at the virtual prezzie I received from my blogging bestie Dana - The Possessionista - this week.

Emma Pillsbury Fashion ID - The Break Up

Once again, hats off to Glee's new costume designer, Elizabeth Martucci, for bringing back the Emma Pillsbury style I fell in love with during Glee's inaugural season.

I love this look.  The geometric-print pencil skirt, paired with a simple pink crewneck top, is classic Emma Pillsbury.

Accessorized with a vintage pink flamingo brooch.  Can you even stand it?!?

At first when i saw this look, I thought, "another Kate Spade beaded Kati cardigan?"

But upon closer inspection, I could see that this isn't Kate Spade at all.  The unique and intricate beading leads me to believe it's probably vintage.

As a TV and fashion devotee, I appreciate attention to detail in costuming.  It brings a layer of depth to a character in any type of series - drama, comedy, or musical.  Isn't Emma Pillsbury the type of character who would drop into her favorite vintage shop to see what new one-of-a-kind baubles the proprietor selected just for her regular customers?  And wouldn't she flip through the sale racks in retail stores, mixing and matching pieces that spoke to her personal style?

Dressing characters on television is an art. It requires imagination, creativity, and a sense of fun.

I'm excited about this season of Glee, and Emma's wardrobe is one of the reasons.  What are your thoughts about her looks so far?

J.Crew Tippi Sweater in Classic Pink - $79.50
(I'm not positive that this is the exact top she's wearing, but it was the closest I found...)

Emma Pillsbury Fashion ID - Makeover

I love love loved this week's episode of Glee.

For so many reasons.

Mostly this one.

The return of Michael Hitchcock as Dalton Rumba!

I'm going to need a spinoff called Scarlet Fever. Or maybe Shame Triscuit.  Ryan Murphy, make it happen.

This week also marked the return of the gloves.

Every week, when we're watching Glee and Emma appears on screen, my husband turns to me and asks, "Do you know what that outfit is?"

This week, I responded, "Yes. The top, and the gloves."

Him:  "The gloves?  You can identify the gloves?"

Me:  "Yep.  Season 2."

Him:  "OMG."

Me:  "I'm going to take that as a compliment."

Emma Pillsbury Fashion ID - Britney 2.0

And she's back.

But maybe not as often as we'd like.

The good news is that there were three fantastic outfits this week, and none of them were from the same designer!

In fact, it looks like Elizabeth Martucci, Glee's new costume designer, is taking Emma back to her roots.

This cardigan definitely looks vintage.  YAY.

And this outfit is quintessential Emma.  An unexpected mix of patterns and textures.  J'ADORE.

J'do not adore that it seems they are holding hands in an assembly. Real teachers would never do that in a professional setting.

Real teachers would, however, love to own Emma's black and white cardigan.

Real teachers would actually be able to afford this skirt.

J.Crew Factory No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Textured Tweed (Blush) - $69.50

It looks like the costume department took a plain white cardigan and embellished the neckline with little green and white flowers.  Now that's what I'm talking about.

This is something any fan of Emma Pillsbury's style could DIY.

Ultimate Outfit Tournament III - Top 14

Okay, so maybe I overestimated my ability to finish the tournament before Glee aired on Thursday. Oopsies.

We didn't have any new Emma clothing to drool over (yet - we caught a glimpse of her in the promo for the next episode), so we still have a little time to reminisce about her season 3 looks. Onward!

I can tell that WWEPWers like Emma in yellow, and past season favorites continue to deserve our recognition!
